Recently, I came across some creative work by Vincent Bal, a master of shadow play, and it made me think of an interesting question: can AI ever create true art, or is it simply producing patterns from existing human works?

We are often amazed by the creative geniuses we see online — whether it’s Vincent Bal playing with shadows or a five-year-old guitar prodigy, playing like a one-person band. What makes Bal’s work special is how he sees possibilities where others see ordinary objects. It’s not just about the final image, but the way his imagination brings these shadows to life, connecting with viewers on a personal level. This type of creative spark is something AI may find hard to replicate.
